We exist to remove financial barriers that stand between college seniors and graduation. At the John T. Hill Scholarship Legacy Foundation, we believe the final step toward earning a degree should be supported—not delayed.

John Thurman Hill is the founder and CEO of the John T. Hill Scholarship Legacy Foundation, a self-funded scholarship endowment established to support college seniors at Alabama State University by providing tuition assistance that enables timely graduation. This mission reflects the foundation’s guiding motto: “A Lack Of Resources Should Never Hamper Educational Goals.”

Roots and Leadership

A native of Montgomery, Alabama, John is the fourth of ten children born to the late Reverend Eddie Hill, Sr., and the late Rosa Lee Adams Hill. He attended Montgomery Public Schools, spending all twelve years at George Washington Carver Elementary, Junior High, and High School, where he was elected class president multiple times, including serving as senior class president.

Academic Excellence

John continued his leadership journey at Alabama State University, where he was elected freshman class president. As a chemistry major with a minor in mathematics, he served as a lab assistant, gaining valuable research experience. His academic interests spanned physics, differential equations, calculus, quantum mechanics, and biology, all of which prepared him well for his first professional role after earning his degree in chemistry.

Professional Career

Initially recruited by one of the nation’s largest breweries to train as a brewmaster, John was soon recruited by General Motors, where he built a distinguished career spanning thirty-one and a half years. During his tenure, he advanced through several supervisory and management roles before retiring more than two decades ago.

Community Engagement

In retirement, John remains active and engaged. He enjoys traveling, fishing, stock trading, watching sports, and visiting family and friends. He volunteers twice a month with Feeding Tampa Bay Food Distribution, a member of the Feeding America network.

Renowned for his expertise in the stock market, John has been invited to lecture and lead seminars across the country. He currently mentors a wide circle of individuals and often expresses regret that time does not allow him to mentor even more.

LaNeata Nuckles President

Show Full Bio

LaNeata Nuckles is a native of Montgomery, Alabama. She graduated from Alabama State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics, summa cum laude.

She worked as a senior programmer analyst in the banking industry, where she developed and maintained software applications for various financial services. She then switched to the public school system, where she taught algebra and geometry to middle and high school students for five years. She enjoyed sharing her passion for mathematics with the younger generation.

LaNeata returned to the IT sector as a quality assurance analyst for various corporations. She was responsible for testing and documenting software products and ensuring that they met the highest standards of quality and functionality. She also trained and mentored junior analysts and helped them improve their skills and performance.

LaNeata's current position is a Senior IT Lead in IT Assurance at a multinational medical technology company.
She is married to Anthony, who also graduated from ASU, and they have three children. When LaNeata is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends and reading.

Kwoneathia Boswell, Ph.D. Vice President

Kwoneathia Boswell, Ph.D., is a licensed psychologist in the state of Alabama. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology with a minor in Business Management from The University of Alabama, where she graduated summa cum laude. She obtained her Master of Arts and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in Psychology from the University of Mississippi (Clinical Psychology program).

Her training and clinical experience have included working with a variety of clients, including students and adults, providing individual and group therapy.

Dr. Boswell currently provides therapy services at The Samaritan Counseling Center, Inc. (TSCC) in Montgomery, Alabama. Prior to joining TSCC, she provided counseling and psychological services to college students at Auburn University, Western Kentucky University, and the University of Mississippi and assisted in conducting research at The University of Alabama. She has also provided services for children (elementary to adolescent students) in a public school system.

Dr. Boswell is deeply committed to promoting wellness, empowerment, and personal growth; advancing student academic success; and supporting the education, training, and development of future clinicians. Her dedication is evident through her current work and past contributions, including facilitating workshops focused on wellness and college achievement, participating in recruitment efforts for interns, practicum students, and professional colleagues, and actively engaging in the training and supervision of graduate-level interns and practicum students.

Vernishia Hill Graham, MD Vice President

Vernishia Hill Graham, MD, is a native of Montgomery, Alabama, born to the late Vernon Hill, Sr., and Gene Hill. She attended Montgomery Public Schools, graduating from Jefferson Davis High School in 1995.

She began her undergraduate studies at the University of Alabama Tuscaloosa before transferring to the University of Alabama at Birmingham, majoring in Health Promotions. After completion of her Bachelor of Arts in Health Promotions, she pursued a master’s degree in exercise physiology. Dr. Graham participated in research on muscle memory in geriatrics and is a co-author on several published papers.

While working on research, Dr. Graham decided to pursue her passion for helping individuals achieve their best health. She completed medical school at St. Matthews University School of Medicine at the satellite program located in Portland, Maine.

Dr. Graham returned home to Montgomery, Alabama, to complete her residency at the Montgomery Family Medicine Residency Program. She and her medical partner established Family Care Associates, initially employed by Baptist Health Systems, in 2011 and transitioned into private practice at its current location in 2015.
Dr. Graham is currently co-owner of Family Care Associates and founder and medical director of Montgomery Laser and Skin Spa.

She is married to Sherard Graham, and they have three children: Sydney, Skylar, and Sawyer Graham. In her spare time, she enjoys watching competitive sports, spending time with her family, and traveling.

Anthony Nuckles Treasurer

Anthony Nuckles is a native of Seale, Alabama, where he grew up with a keen interest in computers and technology. He graduated from Alabama State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science.

Anthony has built a long and successful career at UPS, the world’s largest package delivery company and a leading global provider of specialized transportation and logistics services. He began as a part-time employee while attending ASU. After graduating, he was hired as an IT technician, where he installed and supported computer hardware and software for company operations. He quickly advanced to IT manager, overseeing infrastructure and systems for the Alabama District.

Anthony currently serves as President of the South Atlantic District. He is responsible for the strategic direction and performance of UPS business activities across three states, leading a team of more than 17,000 employees and managing over 55 facilities.

In addition to his executive responsibilities, Anthony is a committed mentor to aspiring leaders and is actively involved in charitable causes and volunteer work through his local church.

He is married to LaNeata, and they have three children. When not working, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing golf, and watching sports.

MeGan Hill, MPH, MCHES Secretary

MeGan Hill, MPH, MCHES, was born in Jefferson City, Tennessee, and raised in Fort Washington, Maryland. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Applied Kinesiology and Physiology from the University of Florida and a Master of Public Health from Eastern Virginia Medical School and Old Dominion University. She is currently pursuing her PhD at Howard University in Medical Sociology.

MeGan has over 10 years of experience across public health and academia, working in federal government, higher education, early childhood education, community health, fitness, and nonprofit sectors. She brings extensive experience in program planning, policy research, implementation, data analysis, evaluation, and qualitative research methods.

She currently serves as a program specialist, overseeing grantees implementing adolescent pregnancy and sexually transmitted infection prevention programs. She is also an adjunct professor at several HBCUs and community colleges throughout Maryland and Virginia.

Outside of work, MeGan enjoys traveling, brunching, and spending time with family and friends.

Kyle Hill

Kyle Hill is a Production Assistant with ESPN, producing video content for Get Up, First Take, and SportsCenter. He is a graduate of Georgia Southern University, where he earned a degree in Multimedia Film and Television with a 3.6 GPA.

Kyle is passionate about storytelling and visual media. In 2025, he became a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., continuing his commitment to leadership and service.

Outside of work, he enjoys sports events, fitness, photography, and the performing arts.

Brittney Jackson, M.Ed.

Ms. Brittney Jackson, M.Ed., is a dedicated mathematics educator and Montgomery, Alabama native. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Pure Mathematics from Troy University and a Master of Education in Mathematics from the American College of Education.

With over eight years of experience teaching high school mathematics in hard-to-staff schools, Ms. Jackson has served students in Mobile, Lowndes, and Montgomery County Public School systems. Her work is driven by a passion for educational equity and empowering students through mathematics.

As a trustee, she brings insight into the academic and social challenges facing underserved students.
In her personal time, she enjoys volunteering, reading, attending concerts, traveling, and spending time with loved ones.

Romisa Lane, MBA

Mrs. Romisa Lane is a Montgomery, Alabama native and proud Alabama State University alumna. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and an MBA with a concentration in Information Technology from Troy University.

She has over seven years of experience in IT, providing services across manufacturing, education, and healthcare sectors. She currently serves as an IT specialist within the federal government.

Mrs. Lane is deeply committed to lifelong learning and supporting initiatives that uplift future ASU scholars.

Kimberly Wiley

Kimberly Wiley is a longtime resident of Montgomery, Alabama, with over 16 years of experience in property management, marketing, and sales. She is recognized for her professionalism, integrity, and leadership in revitalizing apartment communities throughout the River Region.

After earning her Bachelor of Social Work degree from Alabama State University, Kimberly led the restoration of 152 apartment homes and later managed multiple properties within her company’s portfolio.

She currently works as a Sales Analyst with Jay R. Smith Mfg. Co.

Kimberly is a proud mother of two and enjoys family time, travel, cookouts, and youth sports.
